Several months down the road I had a series of reoccuring problems with flat tires. I contacted Neat and they told me to bring the truck right in and they would take care of it. I don't think that my truck was even still under warranty, but they stood strongly by their product and fixed my flat tires quickly, and at no cost. Thier service department did and outstanding job with the repairs, and I think they stretched the life of the tires out beyond anything I could have possibly achieved elsewhere. I suspect that many dealerships would just throw some new tires on and send the bill if the vehicle was over warranty.
After the experience with the flat tire repairs, I refered the dealership to other members of my family, and now we all get our state inspections, oil changes, and other miscellaneous maintenance jobs done at Neat. They are always sensitive to the timing constraints, perform top-notch mechanical work, and come in at a no B.S. price point.
P.S. I've heard similar good things about the Manchester location. That is probably worth a visit as well during your next used vehicle search.
Thursday afternoon I went home from work. Went inside the house and when I came out there was smoke dumping out of the engine bay. We threw the car up on ramps to find that the head gaskets were leaking so bad onto the catalytic converter that it was now a fire hazard. I will tell you, they did an amazing job cleaning the engine before I picked it up Wednesday. There is no way that within 1 day of having the car that this because such a serious issue. BTW, it is illegal to inspect a vehicle in this condition, which they did. Upon calling them to explain what was happening. They stated they could fix the car within the next few weeks but no earlier. When I told them that this was not ok and I have 4 children's lives to worry about. Along with the fact that they had no concern for any of our lives, they just told us to just.. bring the car back. "Bring it back and we will just give you back your money, your to difficult." Exact words. At the end of the day and to cut this story short. They paid my boyfriend to do the job so they didn't have to help us anymore.
Within a week, Neat had an immaculate Toyota Tacoma, that matched my preferences and was within my price range on thier lot. When I came in to inspect the truck, the sales staff was very friendly, and knowledgable. They were able to answer all of my questions (I had a few as a first time truck buyer.) They sold me the truck at a price that was substantially below the Kelly Blue Book value, which was somewhat surprising considering it had a brand new frame, and was so clean it was as if it wasn't even used. The sales staff helped me fill out the financing paper work, and connected me with an excellent lender.
There is a certain relief associated with having an automotive sales/repair entity that you can trust to do the job right, and to not take advatnage of you. Neat auto sales provides this relief to me, and my family. I plan on buying a Tundra sometime soon, and I will certainly be shopping at Neat!
To start, the purchasing process was as difficult as it could get. They lied about the loan and the requirements of it. I have never seen so many people with their hands on one deal or the inability to be able to communicate. Once we got through that process, we went to pick up the car on a Wednesday. My boyfriend went over the vehicle again with a fine tooth comb to make sure everything was good. Engine was clean, car looked clean. Everything was good. There were a few things missing from the vehicle that they agreed to order and we could pick up at a later time. Though the remote start that was advertised in the listing, but didn't really exist on the car, wouldn't be done. Fine..
I will start by saying that finding a used car that is worth purchasing is no easy task. So with that being said, Neat Auto Sales is disappointing to say the least. I went to Neat in search of a vehicle a few weeks ago. My boyfriend who is a 14 year master Subaru tech came along to help me find the right one. We set our sights on a 2008 Subaru Legacy with all the bells and whistles. When looking over the vehicle, we informed them of his experience with these vehicles.
So to end this, I will just say. Looking for a quality car? Don't go here. I have bought a few cars in my life and this has been the first place that made me feel like they don't care about the customer and their lives. But hey.. I have heated seats!
When we took the car apart, comes to find out that a vehicle with 119K miles on it had original spark plugs, original coolant, leaking belt tensioner, original timing belt, Definitely had a head gasket leak, tires are chopped, the transmission fluid is black and I will assume the gear oil in the front and rear differential hasn't been done either. I haven't found the other problems yet but I'm sure they will come about in no time.
